Bartolome & Santiago Islands
We want to enjoy the islands as much as possible, therefore today, our last day in the archipelago, we started before breakfast! We climbed 372 steps to the top of Bartolome Island. All the efforts were worth it as the reward was one of the most famous sceneries from the Galápagos: the Pinnacle Rock!
As we were coming back some of our guest saw dolphins in the distance and followed them for a while, watching their very graceful way of jumping and swimming.
After breakfast we disembarked on the golden sand beach of Bartolome Island; snorkeling and swimming were the favorite activities as the equatorial sun was very strong. Some people enjoyed as well the Glass Bottom Boat where we saw all different fish, sea stars and some sea lions that were curious about us and our glass!
The afternoon was spent on Santiago Island. We disembarked at Egas Beach for our last swimming; even it is the last day we kept on discovering new things on the islands. The black sand was a new landscape for us. After walking by the shore observing all different animals we arrived to the grottos, home of the Galápagos fur seals.
The day was perfect: the weather, the water, the animals... It’s hard to write the last word for such a trip! I think we all enjoy similar things, we all love nature and that is why we have become very good friends after this week and now it is difficult to say good bye… I prefer to say see you soon Lindblad Explorers.
