Epidaurus, Greece

We spent this morning at Epidaurus visiting the ancient Aslcepion (healing center) and a beautiful, intact, Greek theater. Even though we have seen many archeological sites this week, this one provided us with the chance to once again learn something new. Although the majority of the buildings of the Asclepion have fallen down through the years, the stories that Eleni and Ellie told made it come alive.

We spent the afternoon frolicking in the ocean. The jumping rail on the ship was “open” once again, and many of us swam and jumped for close to three hours! Some of us took a short break from swimming to paddle around the bay by kayak.

With the families onboard this week, we had our own version of the Olympics, but tailored to our ship, we called them the Panoramics. Each day there were challenges – some intellectual, some athletic, all of them fun. Today was the final “event,” a trivia contest about many things we learned this week. The gold and silver medals were given out as our final cocktail hour began. The acrostic and haiku poems below sum up a few of the perspectives from our younger guests.
