Fernandina Island
It is already nine o’clock. The stars and the clouds make a rare mixture on the Galapagos’ sky and I am at the outside corridors of the ship, writing, thinking, and feeling...
The various feelings that these islands produce on people are amazing. No wonder why they were once upon a time called the “Enchanted Archipelago.” This place has the power to make you feel in a way that you have never felt before.
Today, while visiting one of the most pristine islands in the Galapagos, Fernandina Island, I sat on the lava flows, observing the creatures that inhabit this place living in such a peaceful way. I wished at that very moment that some day, every human being could reach just a little bit of the peace that these creatures show in an everyday routine. At that very moment, my mind flew away, remembering so many passages of my life, and that brought a smile to my face. When I reacted, I could swear that everybody was doing the same, smiling, and smiling from the heart.
Watching nature is always a nice thing to do. Watching nature in the Galapagos is a superb thing to do. Showing nature to people in the Galapagos is beyond any superlative! I am grateful for what I have and for the smiles that these islands are bringing to my heart and to the hearts of everyone who touches these enchanted islands...
