Genovesa Island
Big smiles while heading back to the Polaris are a regular sighting after each of our outings. We go back to our current home in the Galapagos, feeling the satisfaction of having learnt from and enjoyed the islands to the utmost.
Today we had a long list of highlights to share; therefore people looked particularly joyful. Genovesa Island, the Bird Island, was at its best, with several species breeding and nesting in the middle of the trails. We were really lucky as we observed quite a few swallow-tailed gulls regurgitating squid to their young ones, and several Nazca and red footed boobies cleaning and warming up their chicks.
Each day has been unique and wonderful, on each Zodiac ride smiles go to the island and even greater smiles come back. Today, anchored inside a volcano, the smiles filled in the old caldera as in a huge eruption of delight.
