Floreana Island

Shortly after sunrise a group of guests, especially interested in photography, headed to one of the many tuff cones located on the island of Floreana. After a short climb, a spectacular landscape of the island was revealed to us. With the sunrays on our backs, the colors and shapes of the bay received the perfect light. The first sound of a “click” somehow triggered everybody else’s cameras, starting a “symphony of sounds” that only photographers would love!

The view of blue-footed boobies and sea lions draped over the black lava rocks, and their total obliviousness, was just another good reason to take “one more picture”. Later in the morning, different activities made everybody take different directions. Snorkeling with sea lions was among the most popular of all. The only idea of jumping in the water with dozens of sea lions around you sounded very inviting. The glass bottom boat option allowed all of those who did not want to get into the water to enjoy the marine ecosystem as much as the ones who jumped in the water!

The afternoon walk was delightful as well. A very easy walk over gravel, a lagoon with flamingos and the promise of a beach with sand as find as flour, made our guests very eager to take the chance. By the end of the day, we could still hear, “clicks” from all of those who were still looking for the perfect picture; and that, my dear friends, is not something difficult to find here in paradise!
