Floreana Island

Stunning day! Wonderful! What a day! These are just some examples of the joyful expressions emitted by our guests tonight after a great day on Floreana. Early in the morning we went to visit the famous historical place known as Post Office Bay. After breakfast many of us went snorkeling, hundreds of fish were everywhere. White-tipped reef sharks, colorful sea stars and playful sea lions were among the favorites. In the afternoon, just at the time we were disembarking, we spotted a humpback whale shadowed by her calf very close to the Polaris. We all headed off in our faithful Zodiacs to get a closer look at these cetaceans, and we did it! In addition some of us observed a very big manta ray just a few feet away from the Zodiacs. This sighting was not less impressive. Once on land we found many greater flamingos peacefully eating in the most idyllic lagoon you can imagine. The landscape around the lagoon today was breathtaking; a warm light just enhanced the natural colors of this peculiar setting. A beautiful combination of remoteness, extraordinary sightings and exciting new encounters made our day today.
