Bartolome Island

We are just at the end of a great week with lots of good memories that will stay with us forever. There have been many wonderful moments and excellent sightings that we have shared together. We could not have had more fun!

We are also at the end of the rainy season and at the beginning of the dry cold season. This is the moment when we see almost all the trees getting naked; in order to save water for the rest of the year until rain comes back in December.

Although we see so many changes taking place year after year, there is always that new feeling again, when we see life continuing its cycle and nature taking its course.

Little birds like finches, mockingbirds, doves, will be struggling for life, as they need fresh water to survive. Some will do better than others, just as it has been in perhaps the last 5 millions years.

On the other extreme we find sea birds starting to look for mates, reproduce, and nest. This is the best moment for seabirds because fishes flourish with these very cold rich nutrient waters, as they depend upon the richness of the sea surrounding the archipelago. We enjoyed this richness during snorkeling activities. Those who wanted to observe fishes without getting wet went on the glass bottom boat. Those moments were captured with our digital camera.
