Bartholomew and Santiago Islands

What a marvelous end to an amazing week. It was a real pleasure to share all these incredible moments. Our last day showed us the many different aspects that make the Galápagos unique. This morning, we explored the geology of the archipelago, blimbing to the summit of Bartholomew Island, and, then, an added surprise: a greater flamingo flew before us.

The snorkeling was awesome and very rewarding as we encountered penguins, sharks, parrotfish and many other sea creatures – stars, urchins, anemones, etc.

The afternoon was spent on Santiago, and island whose very impressive coastline reminds us of the forces of nature that build undisturbed to create the incredible landscapes that lie before us.

While walking along the shore of Puerto Egas on Santiago Island, we discovered a young lava heron. It looked very friendly, so we still as it came to closer to take a look at us. Then, we saw one of its parents come to feed it. I could not resist taking a few pictures of it.

We walked back, very happy and satisfy after spending our day in this wonderful place.
