Genovesa Island

For all nature lovers, Genovesa Island is a dream! Early in the morning, approaching the island, hundreds of birds made their daily migration looking for food in the open sea. It is always a challenge getting inside Genovesa caldera; however our experienced captain, Juan Rueda, made it easy. He followed the range markers to get right into the channel and be in the caldera safe and sound.

It is the warm season in the Galápagos, February and March are the hottest months, pretty humid, with temperatures up to ninety degrees Fahrenheit at mid day. But this is not a dilemma for our guests with adventurer souls, and the walk is well worth it, as thousands of birds are waiting for us on the Island. After the walk, all of us deserved a good snorkeling outing in the warm waters of Darwin Bay.
