Floreana and Isabela Islands

What a lovely town, Puerto Villamil! So lovely that tortoises decided to show us how much they were into a “loving” mood. We enjoyed the bright colors of our sunny afternoon, when our guests had the opportunity to explore this picturesque tiny fishing village. They swam in the turquoise and warm waters of a beautiful white beach, some relaxed having a drink in the different kiosks of town and some used the opportunity for jogging or biking through town. We also visited the tortoise breeding center and learned about the programs going on to restore the tortoise populations of Isabela's different volcanoes. And we caught these specimens from Sierra Negra volcano, very much involved in the restoration programs!

The morning had found us on Floreana, the mystery island. We visited historical post office bay as a before breakfast activity. After breakfast, we enjoyed the water world, either snorkeling or from the glass bottom boat. Lots of sea lions joined us in the clear waters of Champion, and together with white-tip reef sharks and colourful fish, they filled our morning with excitement and fun.

I can’t wait to get in the water again!
