Bartolome Island
What a wonderful day we all had today!
Early in the morning, some of us had the chance to climb to the top of Bartolome Island where the most picturesque and famous Pinnacle Rock is located. What a view!
As we reposition, Captain Hinojosa drops anchor on our next visitor site, Puerto Egas in the island of Santiago. We were greeted by our welcoming committee riding the panga as it was “on the payroll.” It was here that this picture was taken, before our walk. What a wonderful place this is.
High tide at the grottos today brought all the wildlife to our path. What a dramatic display of lava and compacted volcanic ash teeming with colorful crabs, birds of all kinds, mammals, reptiles and formidable landscapes.
Our expedition has come to an end, but this will remain in our hearts for ever. “There is never a dull day in the Galapagos” I always imply, though this week has been extremely special for me also. My first baby girl was born on Monday, March 27th. The news was received at the bridge on the Polaris. This wonderful long distance call brought different feelings. Every one went wild. The world now has a different meaning, and soon enough, everybody congratulated me on making this experience unforgettable. My deepest gratitude to all my friends and guests.
Who knows what the future will bring next.
