Isabela & Fernandina Islands
This has been such an incredible day, especially when it comes to marine species’ sightings. As we were cruising on our Zodiac at Punta Vicente Roca, dolphins came and very kindly rode along side us.
Later in the morning, we observed an astonishing diversity of life in the ocean; from ocean sun fish to marine sea turtles, penguin, sea lions, and flightless cormorants that were involved in a feeding frenzy near by, together with hundreds of blue footed boobies, brown noddy terns and pelicans. Trying to explain in details what we saw this morning could be very difficult, but perhaps photographs would help you to get a reasonable and accurate idea of the day’s events. Seeing all this helped us to consolidate our position in protecting the marine environment, and hopefully it would have had created awareness plus understanding of this magical place.
I don’t even need to stress that the snorkeling was phenomenal and all of those who chose the kayaks had also an unforgettable time. For a great ending, we headed to a hike on the island of Fernandina. This place was simply full of life, and it let us all enjoy our time in our own way.
