Isabela and Fernandina Island
It is a beautiful morning; mist covers most of one of the largest islands, Isabela. Today we all become seasoned sailors; we all have a chance to cross the equator line!
Our day began with an early call; we were all out on the decks looking for marine mammals. We were very lucky and encountered a few dolphins and some Mola molas. After looking for marine mammals, it was time to cross the equator line. We were all very excited and most of us did get the chance to photograph the blue line!
The second part of the morning was spent in a quiet bay of Volcano Ecuador, where we all got onboard the Zodiacs to look at the great number of animals resting or nesting along side of the cliffs of this volcano. Even though the water was cold, some of our guests decided to go snorkeling and some decided to take out the kayaks for a last bit of exercise. All and all an amazing morning.
The afternoon was spent visiting the youngest island of the Galápagos, Fernandina Island. Here we were able to see a lot of animals like sea lions, penguins, rays and many more. We all had a chance to reconnect with nature, hear the sounds of the waves, the cries of the sea lions, the wind; it was certainly a personally touching experience.
