Floreana Island
There is great sunlight coming through this hill-laden island. It's 6:30 am, time to visit the historical place known as post office barrel, which is one of the oldest mailing systems in South America.
After breakfast we were on our way to Champion islet, off the main island of Floreana, a great place for water activities. The glass bottom boat was sent off, and right afterwards, the deep water snorkelers joined in the underwater realm of large schools of razor surgeons, king angels, stone scorpion fish, sharks and a lot of juvenile sea lions ready to show us their great swimming and diving abilities. We all came back talking about the Galápagos ballerinas. It was superb!
The afternoon turned out magical, soft late sunlight bathed the brackish water lagoon with Flamingoes and a few others waders. By then it was time to come back to our home for the week, the Polaris.
