Bartolome & Santiago Islands

Today it has been a wonderful morning in the islands; we were at Bartolome where the sun started very early shining this magical archipelago, exposing to us the most extraordinary geology of this place. We started early in the morning, walking up 372 steps to the highest point (350 feet) where all of us enjoyed the beauty of this sight.; we could see many of the rising picks of lava that form the Galápagos land mass in where the most incredible life of earth is found. After this morning walk and back to the Polaris we had breakfast and then different options were offered: snorkeling, glass bottom boat , an interesting walk through the sandy beach exploring live, where we found sharks in the shallow, rays, shore birds like oystercatchers, nesting pelicans in mangrove trees and more. The tropical sun invited us for a good sea exploration that everyone took pleasure in.

The Polaris repositioned to western Santiago (Puerto Egas). We went snorkeling first, with great variety of marine life; the kids played with sea lions and explored the tide pools at the beach. The afternoon sun light was perfect for photography of the landscape and wildlife that was surrounding us such us marine iguanas, sea lions, shorebirds, craps, etc. but all this magical time ended with a beautiful Galápagos sunset.
