Española Island

A little rock and roll, we felt at night sailing to Española, some times, if we are not used to sailing, will feel a little uncomfortable, for some of us, we can sleep contentedly when we have movement like the rocking of a cradle.

Early in the morning Captain Juan Robalino gave the order to drop the anchor, as a wonderful sun rise was coming through a beautiful blue sky.

Very soon after breakfast, we landed, and walked around for almost three hours, where we covered almost two miles. This place, Punta Suarez, has thousands of sea birds and plenty of reptiles. They are all over the trail just walking, resting, nesting. Which ever thing they are doing, we have to be very careful so we don’t step on top of any one of them.

We always suggest having a moment of silence, which is well known among naturalists as "magic moments". It is a few seconds dedicated to the symphony played by the birds, wind and waves.

Today, as always, we had a unique experience that for our guests will live in their minds forever.

The rest of the day, in the afternoon, we had a relaxing time. Gardner Bay is a beach that many different countries would love to have. It is about a mile long, white sand, turquoise waters, black rocks and hundreds of sea lions giving a show for all visitors. No one can stop taking pictures.

For snorkelers, it is a unique experience with many fish and sea lions, and at the end everybody is happy and amazed at all the highlights seen during the day.

And, as we always say, it is just another day in Galápagos.
