Bartolomé & Santiago Islands

Today we started our activities with a bountiful breakfast on the teak deck. By nine o’clock our families, having had the best vacations of their lives, started to disembark. The incredible walk to the summit of Bartolome Island offered a sense of accomplishment after climbing up three hundred seventy-two steps to the top. The most dramatic geological landscape opened up to our eyes and we were astonished because of its raw beauty. After an amazing hour-long walk, we went straight to the half moon beach made up of golden sand where Galápagos penguins and sea lions were the entertainment for our guests who were having a glorious time.

Nature opened itself to our guests as soon as we explored the underwater world by snorkeling and basking in the Galápagos sunshine.

After lunch we sailed to Puerto Egas where we explored the amazing marine world with a fulfilling stroll on the beach. Later we played a game of football on this island of mystery dating from whalers' and pirates' times; some of our guests played football very well and matched some goals to our local team's.

Back on board we realized that we would be remembering our experiences for a lifetime, how wonderful these islands are that once were a whaler’s refuge and pirates burrow.
