Bartolome & Santiago Islands
A bit overcast in the morning here in Bartolomé Island, nevertheless, you want these clouds above when walking on this island. Here we disembarked early in the morning after our optional early wake up call, our destination 312 feet in altitude for an amazing view, the famous pinnacle rock. 372 steps from a wooden staircase helped us get there, either fast as a “none stop till the top” or another option is to walk as a normal pace to enjoy its volcanic features.
Back on board for our breakfast and soon after, water activities were available like swimming, snorkelling, and glass bottom boat; our guests had the opportunity to observe performances by our marine life up-close and far from shore.
Our next destination Santiago Island where we started with our last snorkel, some of our younger guests went to play some soccer. Our walk started soon after. We saw fur seals, Sally Lightfoot crabs, iguanas, birds, and landscapes.
This was our last full day in the Galápagos; all our guests bounded and realized we are one with nature. For us here on board, well, we became attached to new friends with which we have shared this wonderful place. We feel a bit empty and wonder when our guests will come back to embrace nature again - our last corner in the world surrounded by magic, especially for our younger guest, we hope to see you soon.
Our expedition has come to an end but the memories of this place will remained with us for a lifetime.
