Isabela and Fernandina Islands
Galápagos is the third largest marine reserve in the world. Among fish, the Galápagos Islands have amazing diversity. A group of currents, which converge from many different regions of this planet, bring a lot of nutrients as well as many larvae from Central America, South America, and from the Indo Pacific. If you are a person who have swam in many places, and then the Galápagos, for sure you know what I’m talking about.
Some time ago, a friend told us that coming to Galápagos you save a lot of money, because in the same place and at the same time, you can see many things together that belong to different hemispheres and climates.
There is no other place on planet Earth, where you can snorkel with penguins, blue-footed boobies, pelicans, flightless cormorants, sea lions, whales, oceanic sun fish (Mola, mola), sea horses, marine turtles, and a nice blue sky with water temperature over 70 degrees fahrenheit.
In the very last years, Galápagos has been declared one of the most interesting places and one of the best preserved National Parks and Marine Reserves on this planet.
Today we had the chance to see all of those animals and swim with a Pacific sea horse (hippocampus ingens).
