Bartholomew and James Islands

It is 6:30 in the morning, and our guests are ready to start their adventure. It is the perfect temperature outside; we see birds flying and the sun shining behind a fantastic rock formation that is Pinnacle Rock. We are right now anchored in the Bay of Bartholomew Island; some groups are taking the pre-breakfast walk to have a chance to admire the fantastic landscape of both Bartholomew and James Islands. We are climbing over 370 steps to get to the top of this majestic island, some are going fast to get their workout, some are going slower and enjoying the views! After this nice morning outing, we return to the ship for breakfast and to get ready for our water activities.

We once again leave and this time arrive at this golden colored beach where we have the chance to go swimming with sea lions and perhaps even penguins! This island has so much to offer, some take advantage of the snorkeling while others take advantage of the glass bottom boat - something for everybody.

In the afternoon, we visit an island which once had a human settlement, but we can still see plenty of animals that live undisturbed and in excellent conditions. We run into our ever so playful sea lions, fur sea lions and our enigmatic marine iguanas! As we walk along the coast, we can observe some of the great and awe-inspiring volcanoes of Isabela and dozens of marine and coastal birds flying about. This is certainly a nice closure to our Galápagos adventure.
