Genovesa Island

There is probably no other place like Genovesa anywhere in the world. The ancient and extinct caldera located in the middle of the island was the shelter for the Polaris entire day. The morning was terrific! Lots of sea birds where flying every where, and not any kind of sea birds but an especial type called red footed Bobbies. Their beautifully colored beaks were seen into the mangroves trees as they were showing them off for breeding.

We also encountered frigate birds performing the most acrobatic flights, usually pursuing some others species of sea birds to steal their food.

Right after the walk, we headed for swimming and snorkeling. It was perhaps the warmest waters that we had had during the entire expedition.

The afternoon was very enjoyable and very relax-oriented. Several options were offered, including one for all of the guests who wanted to enjoy silence in a place where you could easily make a spiritual union with yourself. Not much talking on this option, but rather the sounds of nature filling in the air and our very souls.

In the end, everyone came back with a big smile because we all accomplished what we really wanted, we all enjoy ourselves!
