Floreana Island
Floreana, the island of mysteries, received us this morning. The ocean was calm and beautiful, and as soon as we opened the ship’s door we saw a couple of sea turtles floating on the surface, waking up from their sweet dreams. We immediately lowered the Zodiacs down to have a nice encounter with them and to visit Post Office Bay, to learn a little more about the human history of the island.
Still in the morning, the snorkeling was amazing. Swimming with very playful sea lions and among different kinds of colorful and tropical fish, it was a great experience for everybody!
After our typical Ecuadorian lunch, some of us went for a peaceful kayak outing and others for a relaxing siesta. Some went to the beach for more swimming and snorkeling.
The afternoon walk was very pleasant. After a wet landing on a green beach, we took the trails to find greater flamingoes in a beautiful brackish water lagoon.
We came back on board very happy after another beautiful full day on the Islands.
