The day started in Stephens Passage with wonderful humpback whale sightings off the bow. Waking up to the Poosh! of humpback whale exhalations on all sides of the ship was something I will never forget. At one time we were surrounded by about 30 individuals! Not bad for a before-breakfast sighting!

I have never seen a glacier as BLUE as South Sawyer glacier was today in Tracy Arm! We had wonderful zodiac tours around the icebergs and in front of the glacier. We even watched the glacier calve, and many of us got wonderful photographs of the water spraying into the air as huge chunks of ice collapsed into the water below the glacier. We also got to see mountain goats climbing on the rocky cliffs, Arctic Terns flying around overhead, gulls sitting on the icebergs, and lots of harbor seals hauled out on the ice. What a wonderful way to end the expedition!
