Cabo San Lucas

After sailing all night, a little after 7:00 am we were finally able to admire the granitic rocks of Cabo San Lucas. When the ship approached from the ocean we encountered a small colony of sea lions. We were also taken by the beautiful colors of the 100 million year old granite reflecting the early sun rays. The whole scene made a perfect setting for an early morning photo stop at the well-known formation called El Arco (the arch).

After we docked, Libby, Lindy and Jack led a determined group of birders through the thorn forest vegetation of the Cape region. Others had their first opportunity for snorkeling at the east side of Santa Maria Bay, with Iliana and Luis.

We returned to the Sea Bird for lunch, had a free afternoon in Cabo, and at 5:00 p.m. enjoyed a photo cocktail cruise to “Friar’s Rock”, and the famous Arch.
