Los Islotes and Isla Espíritu Santo
Our thrilling morning began with a green flash sunrise and dozens of common dolphins greeting us with jubilant leaps. After breakfast we learned just how well California Sea Lions can swim as we snorkeled among them in the shallows off Los Islotes. Their antics were a topic of conversation as we headed south along Isla Espíritu Santo to Bahia Bonanza.
The placid blue-green bay provided the stunning setting for another action packed afternoon of kayaking, desert hikes and strolls along the sandy beach. Hikers spotted the famous black jack rabbit of the island. The kayakers soaked in the beauty of our sea and mountain surroundings while basking in the warm glow of the sun.
Our beachcombers gathered a selection of jewels from the sea to share with us all. Nature’s elegant and functional art is one of the most joyful products of evolution. A beach bonanza indeed!
