Today was to be a unique day for the guests and myself. As a guest lecturer, I am on board to help facilitate an individual's spirit of exploration using photography and drawing. This mission would interweave itself throughout the course of the day. As we awoke this morning the Palouse River was quickly approaching. Our group gathered on deck so they could witness the sunrise as it slowly illuminated the Snake River Valley landscape. Many guests were inspired to gather with their cameras and capture their own artistic impressions of the journey. Today was to unfold in a unique opportunity for exploration, artwork and unique celebration.

In the morning the usual wonderful breakfast was served and upon conclusion everyone was tipped off that our Expeditions Leader Steve Gould was having a Birthday. Little did Steve know how this would rise up later in the day. The troops gathered on the aft deck for Zodiac rides up the River, Kayak excursions and to venture up to Palouse Falls for an exceptional location for photography. It was a beautiful morning and the participants became actively engaged with the scenery as shown in the attached photo.

Everyone was so inspired by the photographic opportunity and the lighting that people were sharing their creative ideas for photographs and eagerly awaiting the next days summary of their images. After lunch a sketching session took place on the aft sundeck, where guest had great fun with a new experience in drawing. This energy carried over into the recap before dinner.
