Isla del Carmen

Day light found us traveling south to our final destination on the last day of this trip, Isla del Carmen, one of the islands belonging to the Bay of Loreto National Park. This large island is one of the few having the status of private property in the Gulf of California, but all kind of activities are feasible at the island.

We arrived in the mid morning, and we started our activities by sending our Zodiacs to the beach with groups of hikers and snorkelers. Both groups had the chance to admire the beauties of both, land and waters of the small cave called arroyo blanco norte.

For the afternoon, we scheduled all kinds of activities, most of them water related. We offered a second chance to snorkel, and later, Zodiac rides along the shore of the northern part of the island. We could appreciate some birds like brown pelicans, magnificent frigate birds and yellow footed gulls with chicks.

Finally, we launched our fleet of kayaks and everybody had a chance to burn their last drops of energy going along the rocky shores. We all came back on board to enjoy a delicious spread of appetizers and an assortment of flavorful cocktails at the Captain’s farewell dinner.

Now we sit under the light of the stars and the luminescent glow of the moon as we say our last goodbyes and prepare for tomorrow's disembark at the Dock of Puerto Escondido.
