Playa Caletas & Corcovado National Park, Osa Peninsula
Today during the morning we stopped at Playa Caletas - what a neat spot! Our friend Enrique and his family happily greeted us on their beach, with big smiles. Walking through trails, horseback riding, relaxing on the beach or lounging under the shade of magnificent mango trees, all of our guests had a morning to dream about for a long time.
After a great lunch at the lounge with spectacular views of the Costa Rican Pacific coast, the engines start up heading to San Pedrilllo, the northern most rangers’ station within Corcovado National Park. An elegant waterfall was waiting for us. My reward of the day was looking at the shiny and impressed eyes of all the explorers who walked with me to the waterfall. Some guest decided to jump in the fresh water of the river and afterwards headed back to the ship. While we cooled off, others walked a flatter trail looking for birds and other wildlife. Beautiful pebbly beaches, exuberant rain forest, colorful scarlet macaws, gymnastic spider monkeys and much more were the golden pot at the end of the rainbow that touches Corcovado National Park.
A breath-taking sunset was the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae, of yet another beautiful day in paradise.
