Manuel Antonio National Park

It has been an exceptional week! Lots of sightings during our navigations and during our outings had giving us the necessary understanding of an ecosystem only found in the tropical rain forest of Panama and Costa Rica. This richness has been the main reason why guests has taken this expedition, however, the addition to see one of the wonders of human engineering, The Panama Canal, added perhaps the perfect balance between nature and the real world.

Today we had arrived at Manuel Antonio National Park to top our wonderful experiences from the previous days. The whiteness of the landing beach was only interrupted by the presence of green patches of vegetation, which somehow we knew were full of eyes looking at us. We were not mistaken; soon after we started our nature walks, all kinds of animal wildlife were spotted all along the trails. Howler monkeys were heard in the dense vegetation. The inquisitive white throated capuchin monkey analyzed our guests; at the beginning they kept a certain distance from us (we are strange creatures to them), but they eventually gained enough confidence to balance their bodies with extreme agility on the nearby branches.

Beach time was exceptional, and we enjoyed a late morning just lounging at this spectacular location. A bit sad to know that this expedition has come to an end, we wrapped our things from the beach, making sure that our presence in this pristine location would be only noticed by the erasable markings of our footprints. Deep inside we all know that we have been touched by the wonderful countries of Panama and Costa Rica and that those memories would not be as erasable as our footprints.
