Casa Orquidea & Rio Rincon
A sublime awakening in this wonderful cosmos of sounds and colors announced our new adventure in paradise! The magical light purple patches over far away clouds were followed suddenly by striking orange tones and finally, the overwhelming sunrise ended up filling the space that crowns the creator's ultimate masterpiece. I must admit that early risers always receive their reward. The fresh smell of Costa Rican coffee completed the ambience while a few of our guests inaudibly found their way towards the sky deck for daily stretching sessions. The splendorous rainforest struggled to beat the intriguing ocean while critters from both worlds simply mingled in majestic ballet.
Our guests prepared for a marvelous morning at the gardens. Everyone had the opportunity for personal reflection at this fantastic rainforest property! Afterwards, I guess we all deserved a refreshing dip in the inviting waters of Golfo Dulce, so the Expedition Leader opened the stern for intrepid swimmers that could tolerate 80 degrees of soothing bliss!
After lunch and a well earned siesta, the excitement grew among all our guests that were ready to commence their afternoon activities. Some of us walked along a quite interesting road that outlines the mangrove areas. Many more guests preferred to ride kayaks or simply took a cruise on board the Zodiacs with the “eagle eyes” of drivers and naturalists. Many species were spotted during the afternoon such as spooned-billed roseate, white ibises, fiery-billed aracari or chestnut-mandibled toucans.
Another glorious sunset was set up for our guests and right afterwards we started the recaps of our day. The humorous chat was accompanied by perfect cocktails served by our now famous barman Rolando.
