Corcovado National Park
The morning dawned with a beautiful red sunrise, while the full moon dipped below the horizon on the other side of the Sea Voyager. Our day started with a wet landing on a gorgeous sandy beach at San Pedrillo on the Osa Peninsula. The only way to reach this area, with its wild and seemingly untouched rain forest, is by boat. Corcovado National Park is home to brightly colored Scarlet Macaws, ant eaters, blue herons, and all four species of monkeys.
Energetic hikers walked over uneven root covered ground gazing up at the canopy of trees high above, and marveled at the many different sounds surrounding them.
The reward at the end of the hike was a beautiful waterfall and a great place to cool off in the clear, fresh water.
Another path bordering the shoreline was taken by others. While exploring the coastal forest, a spider monkey was spotted. He became an instant star as cameras captured his cute face.
Back on board, we sailed to “Las Caletas” where we enjoyed a delicious barbecue lunch on the beach. We are so fortunate to have an amazing staff who prepares incredible meals for us each day.
Our afternoon was filled with a variety of activities. Guests went horseback riding along the beach. Others swam, went on a nature walk, relaxed in the shade reading, and watched a funny show put on by the many white faced monkeys that came to visit us.
Some ended the day with a power walk ending at a cantina where they quenched their thirst with a cold cerveza.
A day packed with fun and sun was had by all.
