Coiba National Park
White sand soft at our feet, a clear blue sky over our heads, and mottled shades of turquoise water await us as an invitation to this “little grain of gold,” the name given to this portion of Coiba National Park for the scenic treasure that it holds. The pleasure of this breathtaking island is undisputed, providing us individually with the opportunity to soothe our spirits. The children run and play from sand to surf while the onlookers delight in their joyful enthusiasm.
Snorkeling is one of the highlights of this special place. Many of us choose to snorkel around the entire island in a group, combining exercise for our bodies while sharing the mystery of the underwater world perspective. Still others choose to linger just off shore, captivated by the beauty of the coral reef and its tropical inhabitants. Time is of no consequence. Kayaking provides an additional opportunity to explore this special place from a different perspective.
We gather back on board the Sea Voyager for a superbly prepared afternoon meal of nutritious local fare. Glancing around the room one notices the exuberance of sun kissed skin and the evident pleasure of an invigorating morning. A wellness treatment is the perfect complement to a rejuvenating afternoon.
The evening is spent enjoying the company of others while learning the native salsa dance. A good time is had by all.
