Corcovado National Park and San Josecito

Early today we were able to see from the Sea Voyager the amazing surroundings of Corcovado National Park. Projecting into the Pacific Ocean like a bony thumb bent down towards Panama, The Osa Peninsula Ranks among the best National Parks in Costa Rica. Until fairly recently it was one of the most inaccessible rainforests and today this peninsula functions as a principal refuge for fauna on the southern Pacific coast.

We are welcome into the beach at San Pedrillo river and ranger station by the early sighting of several pairs of scarlet macaws. As we separate and go into different trails, everybody is surprised and amazed at the rich rainforest we have around us.

After the return to the ship and a small transfer we disembarked at a beach called San Josecito were the crew arranged an excellent barbeque on the beach. We certainly enjoyed it and after lunch there were several options including snorkeling and a peaceful rest in hammocks. Such a difficult choice!

We sailed late in the afternoon in the Pacific towards our next destination and on the way we spotted several pan tropical spotted dolphins, green sea turtles and manta rays flying above the water. Just another beautiful day in paradise.
