Tamarindo and Bahia Zapotal
Wow, each day gets better than the last!
Today we spent the morning at Tamarindo Beach where we could choose from a variety of activities. We could take a Zodiac cruise up a mangrove lined river, we could surf the waves, we could shop in town, we could ride horses down the beach, or we could just relax. Whatever activity we chose we were rewarded! The Zodiac riders found a huge American Crocodile sunning him/herself, the surfers caught some great waves, the horseback riders went galloping along the miles of beach, and the shoppers found all sorts of treats! It was hard to tear ourselves away from the beach!
We had lunch aboard and then sailed to Bahia Zapotal, where we had a huge and beautiful beach all to ourselves. It seems hard to believe that such spectacular and deserted beaches could still exist, and we felt somewhat spoiled, we had found our very own tropical paradise. We played Ultimate Frisbee, we snorkeled and we brought out the Torpedo Blaster for another afternoon of fast paced water rides.
We all returned to the ship for sunset cocktails on the sundeck, and such a perfect day deserved a beautiful sunset, and that is what we got. We all enjoyed watching the hues of red, gold and purple spill across the sky and toasted this wonderful little country of Costa Rica. Pura Vida.
