Today was our last day in this breathtaking natural laboratory and we had the opportunity to visit one of the most pristine islands of the Galapagos Archipelago, Genovesa Island. We left the center of the archipelago yesterday, crossed the equator, and navigated through the night to arrive in the northern part of the Galapagos and anchor in the caldera of Genovesa Island at sunrise.

Genovesa is home to several bird species, but the stars of the show today were red-footed boobies! As we hiked along the trails, we encountered red-footed boobies, swallow-tailed gulls and frigate birds feeding their babies, incubating their eggs and displaying for their mates. It is truly magical to get this close to wildlife and know they trust us even when they’re feeding their babies. It makes us realize we are all part of this same beautiful world!
