Our adventure on Genovesa Island began early in the morning with a visit to Darwin Bay where we had a nature walk around the shore and explored the mangrove area. Our guests had the unique opportunity to observe the red-footed boobies and a variety of sea birds that make Genovesa Island so wild and interesting.

After our morning hike, we offered kayaking and paddleboard excursions to explore the inside of the Genovesa caldera. We enjoyed a wonderful time together and had the opportunity to see all the sea birds’ flying displays.

Mid-day I had the wonderful opportunity to share some time with our Global Explorers to take part in painting and drawing a “fashion-a-fish” activity. They used all their creativity designing their Galapagos fish.

In the afternoon, we had our second outing, visiting Prince Phillip’s Steps. It was another opportunity to be close with the Galapagos wildlife, connecting with the islands and giving us an advantage to find the Galapagos short-eared owl. And we did it!

It was a truly unforgettable day and we left Genovesa Island with a deeper appreciation for this remarkable ecosystem.
