Today we arrived in the northeastern corner of the Galápagos archipelago. We woke up surrounded by the majestic caldera on Genovesa. This island is considered “the island of the birds.” We have reached the final full day of our expedition in the Galápagos Islands. We started early in the morning with an amazing pre-breakfast kayak outing. We saw many seabirds nesting and resting on the rocks along the coast.

After breakfast, we boarded Zodiacs and headed towards Darwin Bay. The morning was lovely and sunny. We visited one of the most emblematic creatures of the archipelago, the red-footed boobies, which were everywhere. The Galapagos National Park has worked hard on conservation efforts to protect the largest population of red-footed boobies in the world.

Later, we went for a remarkable snorkeling to enjoy the deep blue with amazing marine wildlife. We swam with lots of colorful fish, playful sea lions, and hammerhead sharks.

In the afternoon, we went to Prince Phillip’s steps to walk through the dry incense trees and yellow Cordia forest, which led us to a lava field. During our walk, we sighted red-footed boobies and Nazca boobies with their chicks and frigatebirds.

Today was a phenomenal experience in paradise!
