Play games with new friends, read a new book,
Peek out the windows, take a good look.
It’s not that scary, the chill and rain,
It’s just a mindset we must reframe.
So, grab your coats, gloves, and rubber boots,
The forest awaits, the trees and their roots.
Not just the trees but the water and sky
Are filled with critters passing by,
From loons to gulls, kingfishers too,
to harbor seals playing peek a boo.
Aren’t you glad you did it,
Braved the cold and wet?
When we push our comfort zones,
Oh, the memories we get!
