What a fantastic day at Las Almejas this morning, gorgeous sunny skies, flat calm waters and gray whales in every direction! Having sailed all through the night, we woke to waiting pangas to take us into the breeding lagoon. Gray whales travel all the way down from the high arctic of Russia and Alaska to the warm and protected waters of Baja California Sur and we were fortunate enough to see many of them today. The afternoon was spent nearby at Isla Santa Margarita enjoying hikes up the mountain and along the beach, while others kayaked and tested their balance skills on stand-up paddleboards. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better last day in Baja as we enjoyed our wonderful photo slide show, great company and a stunning sunset.
