Today we get to see the bigger picture, in several different ways. We are deep in the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve. This is a place where wildlife does not scatter at the first sight or sound of a human or boat. It took foresight to create, this as well as other reserves and parks. The need, the desire to experience wildness, is a part of the human creature. We are lucky that there was foresight and probably a good dose of tenacity to have this tract of land set aside and protected. We should also feel privileged to be able to get to such a wild place and visit the wild creatures and drink, as has been said before, the curative tonic of wildness.
