Our day began in the sunny town of Petersburg, Alaska. Guests onboard National Geographic Sea Bird had several options on how to spend their time in town. Some chose to go explore the region from a higher vantage, via float plane. Others chose photo walks through town, a stroll down the docks in the harbor, or even a nice hike up to a bog to see a unique ecosystem. After our morning adventures, we sailed to the entrance of Le Conte Bay where ice that had calved off the Le Conte Glacier drifted out for our expedition landing crafts to explore.
