The Upper Amazon exploration brought us today to San Jorge community, where we were able to spend time with the natives and experience their lifestyle. After a comfortable dry landing, we started walking along the paths throughout the community. We were especially delighted to meet the little children, who looked very happy to greet us.
After enjoying the company of the locals, we got together in order to learn about a creative project called Minga Peru, that enhances the opportunities for locals in order to improve their economy. We learned about the positive effects that this project has on the community, and seeing the different handicrafts completed our experience for the morning.
Once we were back on board Delfin II, we started navigating to our next destination: Clavero Lake. The afternoon´s expedition opened up with heavy rains all over the rain forest, but this event was not going to stop our excursion into the area. A magical combination of land birds, along with impressive trees were awe-inspiring.
The greatest surprise of all was the yellow-crowned brush-tailed rat that we found in a burrow on the side of a side. On our way back to Delfin II, the sky was magically decorated with a combination of pink and purple colors, set up by the sunset. Our journey continues tomorrow, and we still have more adventures to experience at the magical paradise of the Upper Amazon.
