Today the National Geographic Endeavour II is anchored at Academy Bay located at the south side of Santa Cruz Island. Here we have had a full day of exciting activities! First, we started with a short ride from the main park into the National Park and the Charles Darwin Research Station. Here we learned about many conservation projects that have been running successfully for the preservation of the Galapagos. After this visit we headed to the highlands where during the bus ride we were able to see the transition from dry ecosystem to humid ecosystem.

Once in the highlands we were surround by Giant tortoises! Some of them were eating grass, drinking water, and even copulating. Santa Cruz Island always surprises us with something new. We loved this visit!
