We spent the first half of the day continuing our way south down the Norwegian fjords to reach our destination of Smøla by the afternoon. We had a wonderful presentation from our dive team about polar diving and required gear, and it included footage from their recent dives.
Later in the morning, Captain Martin gave an incredible in depth talk about the creation of National Geographic Endurance and National Geographic Resolution and why these ships are top of the line.
In the afternoon, we visited two small fishing communities in and around the island of Smøla, one that is still inhabited and one that was abandoned many years ago.
During recap, the local men’s choir came onboard and gave a wonderful performance. After dinner, the day was capped off with the crew show featuring the talents of our beloved colleagues.
