Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship: A High School English Teacher’s Journey to Antarctica
Amy Frontier, a 2025 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow and high school English teacher from Ann Arbor, Michigan, traveled to Antarctica on what she calls the “experience of a lifetime.” During her journey aboard the National Geographic Resolution, she and fellow educators stepped onto the Antarctic ice to observe emperor penguins, Zodiac cruised past seals resting on ice floes and connected with guests and crew along the way. In this spotlight, Frontier reflects on her voyage and shares how the stories she gathered in Antarctica will help inspire her students to deepen their understanding of this extraordinary polar region.
