Day 1 - Brussels, Belgium
Arrive in Brussels and check into Juliana Hotel (or similar). Choose to explore the city on your own or rest up for the adventures ahead.
Day 2 - Brussels
Set out on a comprehensive panoramic tour and walking tour of Brussels that begins in the European District, the heart of the European governance, and continues on to explore a mix of iconic landmarks and hidden gems. Highlights include the European Parliament, the Berlaymont Building, which is the striking headquarters of the European Commission, and the modern Justus Lipsius Building, where EU ministers convene to shape policies.
You’ll also pass by the Atomium, a breathtaking modernist structure built for the 1958 World Expo and designed to resemble an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times; visit the Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its opulent guildhalls; and stroll through the Mont des Arts, a scenic park offering picturesque city views, art galleries and museums. Conclude at the Church of Saint Jacques-sur-Coudenberg, a neo-classical masterpiece steeped in history. Spend the afternoon exploring this storied city on your own. (B,L)
Day 3 - Brussels / Bruges / Embark Ship
Experience the timeless allure of Bruges, affectionately known as the “Venice of the North,” on an expert-guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Witness must-see landmarks, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and visit well-known spots like the vibrant Market Square and the famous Belfry of Bruges, which offers breathtaking panoramic views for those willing to climb to the top of its medieval tower. End the day with an idyllic boat ride through the city's picturesque canals before returning to Brussels to embark the ship and begin your voyage on the Rhine. (B,L)
