Itinerary

Day 1 - Disembark Ship / Fogo Island

Disembark the ship in the morning and travel to Fogo Island, the largest island off the rugged coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. After lunch en route, arrive on the island, where coastal footpaths wind past rocky headlands and brightly painted clapboard houses. Check in to the Fogo Island Inn and take in sweeping views from your suite’s floor-to-ceiling windows. This evening, gather for a three-course dinner in the inn’s dramatic two-story dining room, with the ocean as your backdrop. (B,L,D)

Day 2 - Fogo Island

Wake up to a special surprise just outside your door: an early morning daybreak basket filled with fresh juice, tea or coffee and pastries. After a leisurely breakfast in the main dining room, set out to explore several of the island’s small settlements. Meet a local artist guide and visit the sculpture of the extinct Great Auk, then tour the Long Studio—an off-the-grid structure designed by architect Todd Saunders that hovers on stilts above the landscape, framing spectacular views of the North Atlantic. This evening, gather with fellow travelers for a relaxed family-style dinner prepared by a private chef and served in the inn’s “Shed.” (B,L,D)

Day 3 - Fogo Island

After breakfast, choose from a variety of activities around the island. Join a guided hike with a local expert, or head out to forage for berries and learn the art of jam-making with a community member. Alternatively, visit the Fogo Island Furniture Shop and workshop to meet the skilled carpenters who craft the island’s distinctive furniture. This evening, enjoy a three-course dinner, followed by time to unwind in the wood-fired sauna or the rooftop hot tubs as you take in the dazzling night sky. (B,L,D)

Day 4 - Fogo Island/St. John's

After breakfast, depart Fogo Island, make your way back to St. John's and check into the the Sheraton Hotel for an overnight. Dinner is served in the hotel this evening as you prepare for homeward travel the following day. (B,L,D)

Day 5 - St. John's

After a leisurely breakfast in the hotel, transfer to the airport for flights home. (B)
