Bonnie Walsh
Bonnie has always felt drawn to the natural world. What began as childhood curiosity about wildlife grew into a lifelong passion for understanding the ecosystems that connect land and sea. She earned her B.S. in Marine Science from California State University, Monterey Bay, where she became a certified scientific diver and spent four years studying diverse environments both in the classroom and underwater. Before joining Lindblad Expeditions, Bonnie spent several seasons in Juneau, Alaska, where she worked as a naturalist, deckhand, and captain. She led whale watching tours and navigated the ice-filled fjords of Tracy and Endicott Arm, helping guests experience the beauty and complexity of Southeast Alaska.
Bonnie also interned with the California Killer Whale Project and Monterey Bay Whale Watch, where she studied and documented whale behavior, social structure, and population dynamics through photo-identification research. She believes one of the best ways to truly understand wildlife is to spend time among it, observing, listening, and allowing the natural world to reveal its patterns and stories.
When she’s not aboard the ship, Bonnie enjoys photographing wildlife alongside her husband, camping, hiking, and exploring new places. She’s happiest outdoors whether that’s on the water, in the mountains, or relaxing in the sun with her dog, Mia. She hopes to inspire others to feel the same connection to the natural world.
