Fabián Barquero

Fabian is originally from the beautiful mountainous province of Heredia in Costa Rica. He started working in tourism at an early age, a good friend recommended him to become a guide because of his people skills and his love for nature. That is how he began the studies to be a professional licensed guide, and he also took some psychology classes. Although more than 10 years have passed, he is still learning and amazed with nature. His most memorable moments as guide had happened while immersed in the jungle. He loves the interpretation of the forest and its symbiotic relationships, and he marvels at each opportunity to live unique experiences in nature, hence, he enjoys sharing his knowledge with our visitors and deeply appreciates that they have fun and feel grateful for these experiences.

Fabian studied as a teenager in Syracuse, Pennsylvania, where he polished his conversational English skills, and has travelled extensively in America, going to the most austral part of the continent, Ushuaia, enjoying Iguazu Falls and the vineyards of Mendoza in Argentina, visited charming places in Panama and Nicaragua, and has seen the beauty and reality of Cuba. He practiced martial arts and mountain biking, which gave him the opportunity to visit quaint towns in the lush mountains of Costa Rica and guiding has taken him to favor the unique quietness of Corcovado and the habitat density of Caño Negro. In his free time, he likes to be at home reading a good fiction or nature book or watching a good drama movie and he enjoys resting and relaxing while spending time with his wife and two children.
