Kateryna Volovyk

Kateryna Volovyk supports daily expedition operations as a Zodiac driver and guide. She is a professional mariner and, outside of her expedition work, serves as captain of a private expedition yacht. She holds a Master Unlimited license with advanced Polar Code certification and has experience across expedition vessels, cruise ships and commercial fleets. Her background includes Bridge watchkeeping, ice navigation, small-boat operations and safety management in remote and environmentally sensitive regions.

As a member of the expedition team, Kateryna supports the expedition leader and staff by assisting with Zodiac operations, landings and logistics, helping ensure the safe and efficient movement of guests between ship and shore. Her hands-on approach reflects a strong operational foundation and a clear understanding of the demands of expedition travel.

Kateryna has a particular appreciation for polar regions, where changing environmental conditions, wildlife and landscapes require adaptability and close attention in the field. Fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian, with working knowledge of Polish and German, she works comfortably within international teams and values staying closely connected to field operations while continuing her professional path as a maritime officer.
